Daniel and Megan booked me several months ago to shoot their wedding in May of 2016. We recently shot a very cool Beyonce’-inspired engagement session (which can be viewed here) and I designed and produced their engagement party invitations as well.
So, when Megan informed me that there was some sudden illness in the family, and her and Dan had decided to do a civil ceremony this month to ensure important family members would be in attendance, I was more than happy to make some amendments to their wedding package to include City Hall coverage.
My own mother became very ill shortly after I became engaged, and we had to move our wedding way up so that my Mom could see me get married, so I could definitely relate to the sense of urgency Megan was feeling.
Exactly one year to-the-day before their large ceremony is to take place, we all met inside San Francisco City Hall. We worked our way around the building, using the architecture to our advantage, and shooting Daniel and Megan alone while waiting for family and friends to arrive.
These two are huge San Francisco Giants fans, and they donned a boutonniere and veil bow made out of baseballs, with orange attire and accessories.
With the ceremony time fast approaching, we made way to the officiant for the license, and for the first time in my wedding photography career, I got to be the witness and sign the license!
Friends and family began to arrive and prepare for the ceremony.
In front of cherished friends and family, vows were exchanged and a lifetime commitment was made.
I’ve known Daniel for years, and I’ve also known several of the guests and wedding party for a long time too so, we had no trouble getting loose and having fun.
We spent the next hour or so getting lots of great images.
After it was all said and done, these two headed out to go catch a Giant’s game. I look forward to shooting their larger ceremony next year! Congratulations Daniel and Megan.
